Croatia’s wineries are a testament to the country’s centuries-old vinicultural tradition. Guests can stroll through picturesque vineyards, enjoy guided tastings, and learn about indigenous grape varieties such as Plavac Mali and Pošip. Many wineries also host pairing dinners, live music events, and cultural festivals that celebrate the fusion of wine and Croatian heritage.
Our story
The long winemaking tradition of the Franković family has remained a constant for generations, stronger than their ties to any single place. Not even the love-driven journey of Josip Franković from central Istria to Buje could shake the deep-rooted passion for the vine and winemaking instilled in him by his father. And as the saying goes, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree- the younger generation of the family is now continuing this expanding winemaking story, actively contributing through their involvement and choice of winemaking education.
Our unique location
Our new home and the careful selection of land in the exceptionally fertile Santa Lucia area—with its ideal combination of limestone and clay—became the foundation for a new winemaking story, built on old roots and a sturdy trunk, through which flows a blend of informal wisdom, formal agronomic education, and hands-on experience in managing large wine production facilities.
