Our story
The roots of our San Mauro family winery, distillery and agritourism go back far to the time of our ancestors. Today, on the 350-year-old estate in Momjan we strive to preserve tradition but at the same time innovate, like in the production of our wines. Our focus is on indigenous varieties Malvasia, Teran, or Muškat Momjanski, which we produce in four different variants. Besides wine, we produce more than 40 types of brandies and liqueurs from various plants and fruits that grow in the area, using an old family recipe. Arriving at our estate, our pigs Điđi & Pepa will greet you before you start enjoying authentic Istrian delicacies prepared by our mother Dora - from prosciutto and cheese to pasta and boškarin dishes. All these ingredients are sourced from the estate by our father Libero!
Our unique location
Momjan is located on the highest hills of northwestern Istria, caressed by the sea air and warmth of the sunlight. From ancient times it has been a rich wine area that provides excellent conditions for wines with special aromas, such as Muškat Momjanski. Through hard work and dedication we managed to capture the essence of this terroir in our wines. And stepping a foot on our agritourism you will understand why Istria is a paradise for people that adore history, food and beautiful views.
