Our story
Soparnik: Traditional dish from the Poljica region declared an intangible cultural heritage of Croatia with the EU geographical origin label. Thin pie withSwiss chard and onion, made on open fire covered with hot coals and seasoned with extra virgin olive oil and garlic. Description: Upon arrival in Gata, an aperitif and local dessert are served, followed by the presentation of making soparnik by the soparnik master. During the entire preparation, the local guide explains the procedure itself, but also introduces the guests to the history and customs of the people of Poljica. After the soparnik is baked and ready to eat, it is followed by a tasting with a glass of wine (Plavac mali, wine house Skaramuča, Pelješac). Program duration 60 min. Our unique location
Part of Inland Dalmatia, above Omis, called Poljica includes a group of villages - including Gata, situated away from the seaside and hidden between mountains. Today’s territory of Poljica, once was known as the Principality of Poljica, existed for more than 600 years, from the 13th to early 19th century.
