Bale is the best-kept secret in Istria and I'm going to reveal it to you. This small settlement, made entirely out of stone, is located just a step away from the sea - between Rovinj and Pula, yet so easy to miss. The world's finest extra-virgin olive oils are produced in this very sweet and smart little town, so you might want to reconsider skipping it. Bale is by far one of the most authentic places to visit in Istria. It's where we escape from crowded Rovinj to enjoy nature and grab a drink. However, personally, it holds a special spot in my heart. It's where my grandma was born and now that she's gone, I carry on her memories by telling stories from her hometown. I can't wait to introduce you to the most authentic version of the Mediterranean and Istrian lifestyle, I just need to be sure you can keep a secret. . .
