A wine tasting near Zadar that actually feeds you - that's what this is. At Royal Vineyards (Kraljevski Vinogradi) above Petrčane, the tasting flight opens with a chilled aperitif rosé, moves through Pošip or the Punta Skala cuvée; a Pošip-based white with layered stone-fruit character, and closes with a structured Plavac Mali. Each wine poured at 0.1L. Still or sparkling water throughout, coffee on request. Alongside the wines comes the Vineyard Dish: a platter of Drniški pršut, aged sheep's cheese, Nin šokol, pancetta, and kobasica - some of the most honest charcuterie Dalmatia produces, sourced locally and served without ceremony. If you prefer to skip the meat, there's a coastal alternative: fish pâté and olive tapenade, both made to pair with the same wines without missing a beat. The setting earns its place in the experience but doesn't compete with it. A stone-vaulted terrace framed by century-old olive trees, 300,000 vines stretching across 25 hectares of sun-baked limestone, and a panorama over the Zadar Channel and the Dalmatian islands. The vineyard was replanted in 2011 on land with nine centuries of winemaking history - gifted by King Petar Krešimir IV in 1066, lost under communism, restored by wine enthusiasts who crushed the rock themselves to plant again. Wine tasting in Zadar doesn't get more Dalmatian than this. Book it before someone else does.
