About the experience

This Pag island gastro and culture tour is a true experience of this unique Croatian island. We start the tour in Zadar and at the first stop on the Pag bridge you will feel something unique - Bura wind blowing from Velebit mountain. We continue to the old town of Pag where the guide will take you to see the best sights there - the basilica, Rector's Palace, Lace Museum and Benedictine monastery known for "baškotini" - a sweet toast based on a 300 year old recipe. We will also visit the old salt factory and learn all about the historical significance of salt production for the island. Cheese tasting in the cheese factory comes after - as the island is also famous for its world-class cheese. On the way back we will stop for a wine tasting in one of the best wineries in the region.

Why this local experience is authentic

Profile Picture

Pag is a truly unique island - covered with karst and stone, which is why it is called the Lunar Island or the Island of Rock. Strong wind called Bora gives this island a distinctive vegetation that affects the quality of milk and cheese produced from it - making it one of the best in the world. But that is only the beginning of the gastronomical and cultural story of this great destination.
