Walking Tour through Dubrovnik's Old Town

If you have only a short time in Dubrovnik, the best way to get to know the town is through a private walking tour. On a stroll around Old Town , our guide will introduce you to its history, people, customs and provide you with all the insider tips of what to see, where to eat and what else to do. The tour normally begins from Pile Gate – The western entrance to the Old Town. Upon learning about the rich history of our town, we will enter the Old Town from Pile Gate (or below through what used to be the protective moat) and take you around the city. Franciscan Monastery with 700-year-old Pharmacy, Saint Claire’s nunnery, Great Onofrio’s Fountain, and Saint Saviors church are just some of the sights at the beginning of Old Town main Street – Stradun. You will hear about the dynamic life of nuns and monks, orphans, priests cursing at young soccer players, and Saints protectors from the Plague in Iza Roka and Zlatariceva Street. Walking down the main street of Stradun. We will return to the city through the Fish Market gate and emerge in front of our glorious Assumption Cathedral. We will then walk by the Rector’s Palace and all intrigues that went with it, which will take us to Green Market square (Gundulic Square) where ladies from the outskirts of Dubrovnik sell their fruits and vegetables every morning. The tour ends at the bottom of the Jezuite baroque staircase.
