About the experience

We meet at the Pula city center and then we head for our family farm where our cooking studio – Scuola is (15 minutes from Pula by car). There we prepare maneštra, a thick bean-based soup, creamy risottos, or pastas with vegetable- or mushroom-based sauces. In the spring, wild asparagus are prepared in a variety of ways. Alternatively, we use seitan, tofu, or tempeh to give meat-based local cuisine a vegetarian twist. Why this class is important is because, actually, Istrian cuisine is basically vegetarian, even vegan - as people were poor and couldn't afford that much meat. So, this way you experience true Istrian cuisine founded back in the past! This class is 6 hours long overall.

What exactly is included

  • guidance and cooking with a household cook
  • tour of Pula's fish and green market, where we source all ingredients

  • all ingredients and materials
  • coffee and/or digestif (rakija, herb infused liquors...)
  • guided tasting of premium Istrian wines (optional)
  • transfer from Pula to Scuola and back
