About the experience

Hop in our car – we pick you up wherever in Istria and drive you all day – and visit 2-3 local wineries to sample a wide array of styles and varieties. With more than hundred wineries spread across our hilly peninsula, Istrian wine universe is vast and ever expanding, slowly conquering international palates with Istrian Malvazija, Teran, Muscat of Momjan and Borgonja – native grape varieties we Istrians are very proud of. This tour is absed in the northwestern part of Istria, where some of the oldest and most renown local wineries are situated.

What exactly is included

wine geek guides
visit of two to three wineries* (depending on number of wines we try in each winery)
tasting fees in each winery
tasting of at least 15 wines in total
one-course lunch in a traditional Istrian tavern
we can organize pick-up/drop-off anywhere in Istria county (it is also possible to organize transfer from Rijeka or Opatija for additional fee of 60 EUR for 2-5 persons)
you'll learn about the history and the styles of winemaking in Istria, the indigenous grape varieties, soils and microclimates and basics of pairing with signature Istrian dishes.

Location or meeting point

If you think you might have trouble finding the exact location, do not worry. Upon booking confirmation we will deliver exact coordinates to your email address. In your voucher you will receive instructions on how to reach the location correctly, as well (if provided by the host). Some agencies will let you pick among several pick-up locations or pick you at the specific location of your own choice (e.g. your apartment). This is why they have your phone number and you have theirs - so you can easily arrange this over the phone.

Locals admit they are spoilt for choice and often find it difficult to put up a reasonable wine tasting itinerary allowing them to experience (and learn!) as much as possible in a single day. Add to this a wish that wines you’ll taste more or less match your drinking preferences and things will get even more complicated.
