About the experience

We will visit three wineries during the tour and we are going to take a break in Konoba Bava, near Vinjan, for a light lunch.The tour includes visit of three wineries. We’ll have a break during a light lunch in Konoba Bačva near Višnjan.These winemakers were chosen for the differences between their monovarietal red wines made from old Istrian varietals Teran and Istrian Borgonja (a parent of Gamay) and international varietals Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. I'm confident you'll expand your knowledge about wine in general and maybe you might even be able to answer the question right away.

What exactly is included

visit of two to three wineries* (depending on number of wines we try in each winery)
tasting fees in each winery
tasting of at least 15 wines in total
one-course lunch in a traditional Istrian tavern
we can organize pick-up/drop-off anywhere in Istria county (it is also possible to organize transfer from Rijeka or Opatija for additional fee of 60 EUR for 2-5 persons)
you'll learn about the history and the styles of winemaking in Istria, the indigenous grape varieties, soils and microclimates and basics of pairing with signature Istrian dishes.

Location or meeting point

If you think you might have trouble finding the exact location, do not worry. Upon booking confirmation we will deliver exact coordinates to your email address. In your voucher you will receive instructions on how to reach the location correctly, as well (if provided by the host). Some agencies will let you pick among several pick-up locations or pick you at the specific location of your own choice (e.g. your apartment). This is why they have your phone number and you have theirs - so you can easily arrange this over the phone.

Locals admit they are spoilt for choice and often find it difficult to put up a reasonable wine tasting itinerary allowing them to experience (and learn!) as much as possible in a single day.
